If there is one thing I love about reading, it’s when a great book draws you in and you CAN’T PUT IT DOWN. Bay’s End is a mixture of Stephen King’s book, The Body, and that great kid’s movie, The Sandlot, but much darker. I was hooked by the first page.
The characters were so well drawn and personable. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Eddy, even if he did have a foul mouth! LOL! I kept picturing that kid in The Sandlot named “Squints” with the eyeglasses and buck teeth! I guarantee once you read this, you will be able to look back on your own childhood and see the characters in some of your own friends.
The ending blew me away! I mean, it isn’t like the “bad guy” isn’t made known from the beginning, but I love a book that throws a wrench into the machinery and screws you all up! Lorn pulls this off magnificently. His colorful descriptions also brought back memories of my own childhood in the summertime when the only worry I had was figuring out what my friends and I would do for the day.
If you like books that are part YA, part thriller, and a whole lot of OMG – grab this one and hang on tight. It’s one of those carnival rides that starts off fun, but has you hiding your eyes in fear by the end.

Holy mackerel! Thank you so much, Nicole. I’m honored.
